Greater than 5 crore complaints have been obtained towards telecom operators associated to cell providers throughout 2021-22, with about 54 per cent of them towards Airtel, adopted by Vodafone Concept, Parliament was knowledgeable on Friday. Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan, in a written reply within the Rajya Sabha, gave knowledge on complaints obtained towards numerous telecom service suppliers associated to cell telephony throughout 2021-22, as per which the quantity for Airtel stood at 2,99,68,519, and for Vodafone Concept at 2,17,85,460.
The variety of such complaints towardswas 25.8 lakh.
In all, almost 5.5 crore complaints associated to mobile cell phone providers have been registered by shoppers by means of helpline numbers of operators at criticism centres throughout 2021-22.
The variety of complaints towards state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd () and Mahanagar Phone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) stood at 8.8 lakh and 48,170 respectively.
“The complaints obtained at criticism centres by means of buyer helpline numbers are resolved by the involved service supplier,” the minister mentioned.
The place the complaints aren’t resolved by the service suppliers, the complainant can strategy the general public grievance wing of the Division of Telecommunications. All of the grievances so obtained are monitored and resolved by means of the Centralised Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal.
“The variety of grievances obtained throughout 2021-22 by means of CPGRAMS portal was 58911, out of which 58,224 have been resolved,” the minister added.
To a different query, Chauhan mentioned the variety of BSNL clients who opted for community port out stood at 52.3 lakh in 2021-22, whereas the subscribers porting in have been at 28.8 lakh.
Stiff competitors within the telecom sector drove each port in and port out for BSNL, he added.
